My favorite TeacherTube video this week is "11 Yr Old Power Teaching! Amazing!" Whenever I mention using revision strategies, groans abound. Too many of my students write, hand it in, and never want to see it again. The topic of this video is writing a strong-verb paragraph, something I've been working on with my high school students. As we began evaluating weak-verb paragraphs in class last week, I was met with silence. I've never tried the Power Teaching approach nor have I had students lead the discussion. I'll be trying both this week! : )

Introduction
Welcome to my blog! I teach English and publications at Adams Central High School. In my spare time I coach junior high volleyball and sponsor the yearbook and newspaper staff. My husband teaches science and coaches girls basketball and track at Adams Central, so it has become our second home. We have two daughters; Madison is 7 and Elli is 4. Most of our family time during the school year is spent in the gym, but we enjoy camping and fishing trips together in the summer. I'm addicted to photography, scrapbooking, and gardening, but my empty scrapbooks still outnumber the full and my garden is overrun with weeds!
